I said yes!

This weekend was not your typical weekend. Scott's family was in town because his grandma had surgery on Wednesday so we had been hanging out with them Friday night. Saturday I had ran some errands and cleaned up my apartment a bit and then ran with Scott's mom to a store in the afternoon. That night Scott and I had decided to go to the Top of the Harbor, which is a revolving restaurant on the top level of a hotel here in town. Both of us had never been there before so it was pretty exciting. We ate and talked as we got a 360 degree view of the city.

On the drive back he asked me what I wanted to do for the rest of the night and I didn't have a preference but had recently bought a couple new DVD's so I offered up a movie at my apartment. When I opened my apartment door I noticed 2 dozen roses were on my coffee table. I was shocked and could not figure out how they had gotten in there because no on else has a key to my apartment and my door is always locked. I asked Scott and he said he didn't know, but I gave him a thank you kiss anyways. As I was leaning over to smell them I realized that my bedroom door was closed and I could see red rose petals underneath it.

I once again asked Scott what was going on and he didn't say anything thing. I opened the door and saw there were red and white rose petals on the floor and I thought it spelled something out. My first thought was it spelled "I love you" but when I took a step back to look at it I realized it said "Will you..." My heart started racing as I turned back to look at Scott. He was down on one knee with a ring box open in my doorway and asked if I would marry him. I was uncontrollably crying, in a good way, and I'm tearing up as I'm writing this down now. I dropped to my knees to hug him and said YES!!!

Then I cried some more as he placed the most beautiful ring on my finger. He brought out a bottle of champagne and we toasted to our new engagement.

I do believe that I am the happiest girl on earth right now. Scott is such an amazing man and I thank God everyday that I found him. Today we spent the day letting our friends and family know the wonderful news.
